Who is Muhammad Coovadia?
My work centres on the struggles people carry quietly.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, low mood, identity questions, academic pressure, addiction, and relationship or marital strain. I have a particular interest in boys' and men's mental health, and spiritually integrated care.

In the therapy room, my aim is to understand my clients. I draw on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative and systems work, while always adapting the process to your context.

Outside the consulting room, I have worked in universities, schools, corporate settings, hospitals, community spaces and media houses, delivering talks and workshops. I have published a peer-reviewed academic article and widely read op-eds for the Daily Maverick and IOL.

What Support Do I Offer?

Cost Should Not Be the Barrier
Below medical aid rate.
Sliding scale where needed.
My services are offered at a below medical aid rate, with a sliding scale available for those who require financial flexibility. I believe that mental health support should not be determined by income, and I am committed to making my practice accessible without compromising the integrity of the process.

A range of payment options including cash and medical aid, are accepted to accommodate different circumstances. If you are unsure whether my fees are workable for you, I encourage you to get in touch.
